Drug Rehab Aftercare

Drug rehab aftercare is an intricate and necessary part of the rehab experience at Lakeview Health Systems. We believe that alcohol rehab or drug rehab is just the beginning of the recovery process and everyone will require continued support. Regardless of how much you have accomplished or how resistant you have been in rehab, we are treating a disease that does not just “go away”, once your drug rehab experience is complete. You need drug rehab aftercare. The way that we help you to keep your disease in remission and stay in recovery is to develop an effective relapse prevention plan in conjunction with an aftercare plan.

Drug Rehab Aftercare in the Relapse Prevention Program

The entire staff in our drug rehab program and in particular in the drug rehab aftercare relapse prevention program, is responsible and committed to designing a relapse prevention aftercare plan for each patient. The relapse prevention program will address individual triggers, behaviors and patterns of thought that might sabotage recovery. Once these are identified by your therapist in the relapse prevention program, the information will become part of your aftercare plan. Regardless of the comprehensiveness of the relapse prevention aftercare plan, it is your responsibility to do the work involved with drug rehab aftercare. If you feel you are at risk for relapse, please call our drug rehab program and ask for your primary therapist or the Alumni Coordinator.

The Alumni Coordinator and Drug Rehab Aftercare Relapse Prevention

You will meet with the Alumni Coordinator several times before discharge from our drug rehab program. In addition to meeting with you, the Alumni Coordinator will also meet with your relapse prevention therapist and your discharge planner to become familiar with your drug rehab aftercare plan. One of the responsibilities of the Alumni Coordinator is to provide you with continuing support after discharge from our Florida drug rehab. You can count on the Alumni Coordinator keeping in contact with you every thirty days for the first year of your recovery as part of your drug rehab aftercare. If you are having difficulties or just need to talk, just call our drug rehab center and ask for your therapist or Alumni Coordinator. We are here to help.

Relapse, Shame and Our Florida Drug Treatment Center

Unfortunately, relapse happens more often than people working in drug and alcohol rehabs want to acknowledge. Due to the difficulty associated with maintaining long term recovery, some people working in drug rehabs believe relapse occurs when people do not take their relapse prevention program seriously. At Lakeview, we believe it is not so much a matter of taking drug rehab seriously, but rather respecting the severity of our illness and committing to an entirely new way of living life sober. If relapse does occur, contact our Florida drug rehab program immediately. Don’t let shame, pride or self pity stand in your way. Shame has turned out to be one of our major hurdles in drug treatment and recovery. The sooner you get yourself back into rehab, the less painful and damaging your relapse will be.

Our Drug Treatment Program and Recovery Newsletter

While we know you want to move on, many people like to keep abreast of what transpires within our drug treatment program. We are constantly striving to improve Lakeview by improving on the drug rehab facility and drug rehab aftercare, by adding new staff or designing new drug treatment programs. The recovery newsletter is published quarterly and will be mailed to your address. For those of you with Internet access, the newsletter can be viewed online. Lastly, if you want to be involved in developing articles for the newsletter, contact the Alumni Coordinator at the drug rehab program and they will provide you with the necessary information.
